Giving Thanks for Our Country
Thanksgiving is a great time to give thanks for blessings we have living in the United States. You might have noticed the incredible new 10’ x 15’ American flag flying in Downtown Romeo these last few weeks. Romeo business owner Greg Tarr, a Marine Corps Reserves veteran, noticed the need for a new patriotic focal point when driving through town recently. So he approached the Village and received their permission to install a 50’ flag pole right next to his office on the corner of Main Street and Washington.
The flag and flag pole were purchased from a company right here in Michigan, and our own Holly Shaw’s uncle John White arrived with a crane to assist Greg and Taylor Brynaert with the installation.
Next time you drive by the office, take a moment and enjoy the addition to the Romeo skyline, and remember the sacrifice of all of those who served to protect our great country.
